The 2023-24 Aurora Season Has Begun. Book Now!

Is availability accurate on your website?

Yes - this is a live site and availability is in real-time. If there is no space listed as available, or if we are closed, then we are in fact unavailable for that evening.

Can I make reservations or ask questions by phone?

Of course! However, due to the nature of the aurora’s schedule and our limited staffing, we may be delayed in returning your calls. We suggest reviewing the reservation policies and this FAQ page before contacting us. Thanks in advance for your patience!

Do you provide transportation to and from your facility?

Nope! If possible we recommend renting a car. If that isn’t possible we recommend using Lyft/Uber/Taxi to arrive at 10pm or later and then prebook a taxi for a 2am pickup, as ride share can be hit or miss late at night.

How often are you hosting experiences?

We are open by reservation only. Reservations should be made online. We maintain irregular office hours so an immediate response is not possible. Thank you for your patience as we return your call, text, or email.

How far from town are you located?

We are an easy, 15-minute drive away from Downtown Fairbanks.

Do you cancel if it’s snowing or raining?

Usually, but we make the final decision by 8pm. We do not cancel for clouds.

What’s your cancellation policy?

We will uphold our cancellation policies. Aurora Pointe will refund up to 50% of overall balance of reservation if a cancellation is made outside of 72 hours prior to tour date. Payments are completely non-refundable if cancelled within 72 hours of tour date. No-show guests will be charged the full reservation amount.

In the case of a cancellation by Aurora Pointe, a full refund will be issued.

Do you sell food or drinks?

No, but you may bring your own beverages or snacks. Complimentary Alaskan-roasted coffee is provided all night, along with tea, cocoa, and homemade cookies.

Do we drive around or change locations?

Nope! Thankfully, we stay at our lovely, modern facility for the whole night. The aurora can be seen just a couple steps away from the door.

What time do you open?

We open the gate and doors at 10pm. Early arrivals will not be able to access the property. We close at 2am. Please be prompt with your arrival and departure times.

Can I reschedule my reservation?

Potentially! It is possible to reschedule a reservation. Please contact us directly ASAP and we will approach reservations on a case-by-case basis depending on availability and existing reservations. Rescheduling may not be a viable option and we will uphold our cancellation policies.

What is the best time of year to view the Aurora Borealis in Fairbanks?

It is nearly impossible to narrow down the best time to visit to see aurora. Typically, the best months are between late-August and early-April. You should plan the activities you have control over (dog mushing, museum exploring, etc.) and to consider aurora viewing as a bonus to a unique, Alaskan experience.

Do you guarantee that I will be able to see the Aurora?

Definitely not! Although we work very hard to track for the perfect conditions, we can never guarantee a sighting of the elusive aurora. Instead, we do everything possible to keep you awake, entertained, and satisfied with even the cloudiest of Alaskan evenings.
